Nepal doing better in South Asia in the fight against COVID-19

Nepal’s measures for the control and treatment of coronavirus are seen better as compared to other SAARC member states. The good thing is there is no fatality caused by COVID-19 in Nepal as well as in Bhutan while the number of infected ones is also less.    

Death toll from unknown disease in Mahottari reaches 11

On Saturday, 55-year-old Indian national Motilal Prajapati, a brick kiln worker at Bardibas-12, and Palat Sah, 48, of Bhangaha-6 died of the disease. All other deceased are from Bardibas-12, Bhangaha-6 and 7.    

70 percent industries found flouting government decision to provide regular payment to workers

During a primary survey on the status of distribution of remuneration and operation of industries during lockdown by the Whole Trade Union Nepal (WHIN), only 30 percent industries were found giving the full payment of March-April to their workers. The survey covers 219 industries associated with General Federation of Nepalese Trade Unions (GFONT), in the five States with industrial density.

Dead bodies of those missing in avalanche found

According to Nepal Army Public Relations Directorate, two dead bodies: one of Nepali and another Korean national were recovered on Friday and brought to Pokhara.

Patients of chronic diseases get medicines at doorsteps  

Diprung Chuichumma rural municipality in Khotang, a eastern hilly district in the State 1, has provided medicines for patients of chronic diseases at their doorsteps when the nationwide lockdown against COVID-19 goes on. A total of 308 people prescribed to undergo a regular medication course have received the required medicines free of cost.   

Local quarantines getting empty in Kanchanpur

Most of the quarantines established by local levels in the district are gradually getting empty. Those staying in quarantines were new entrants from adjoining Indian cities and they now have returned homes after completing quarantine period.  

NAC wide-body flying to Australia, China and South Korea 

The national flag carrier Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) has continued chartered and cargo flights to the international destinations during the nationwide lockdown against the coronavirus.   

Medical, food stuffs provided to security personnel  

AVD Dugad Group Auto Mobile Pokhara has provided medical and food stuffs to the security personnel in different police stations. The group has provided the medical and food stuffs to the security personnel who were on continuous duty.
