The death of 12 people in Bardibas and Bhangaha municipalities of Mahottari district is not due to COVID-19, the District Health Office here has confirmed.    

Police open blank fire to disperse crowd at border

at the southern border area in Jhapa district on Monday to drive away unruly Indian nationals who were trying to crowd in defiance of the lockdown. The incident took place at around 4.30 pm at a border village in Jhapa rural municipality-4.

A teacher has been arrested here for physical assault on a woman. Police apprehended Khagendra Rana of Tribeni, Painyu rural municipality-2 in southern part of Parbat district on Saturday.

High alert measures placed in State 5 following 17 coronavirus cases in two days   

High alert measures have been placed in State 5 following the confirmation of 17 coronavirus infection cases. Seventeen people have been confirmed to have contracted the virus in the State on last Saturday and Sunday. A man from Rupandehi, who had been working at tailor shops at Gandhinagar in India, was said to have transmitted the virus infection to others. The tailor worker had reached the State at 1.00pm on April 7 from his workplace at Gandhinagar.    

Narayangadh-Muglin raod section resumes one-way

The Narayangadh-Mulgin road section which had come to a grinding halt due to landslides triggered by rainfall late this morning has resumed partially. The traffic along the route reopened one-way after 40 minutes of the obstruction, said District Police Office, Chitwan's spokesperson Ek Narayan Koirala.    

Farmers in Kathmandu Valley fringe busy in farm activities amidst lockdown 

The whole country is in lockdown to stem the spread of COVID-19. But the farmers in the Kaanth area (outer rim area within the Kathmandu Valley) are busy in the fields harvesting wheat and picking vegetables as well as cultivating.
