The child rights defenders have shown concern over the establishment of quarantine facilities in schools for long, saying it was against the notion- 'school: the zone of peace'.    

158 Nepalis die from coronavirus abroad

A total of 158 Nepalis have lost their lives from coronavirus in different parts of the world so far while 26,227 Nepalis have been found infected.    

  One dies in quarantine 

A person died in quarantine in Nawalparasi district (Bardaghat-Susta West) this morning.     The 45-year-old man died in a quarantine constructed at Divyajyoti Campus of Bardaghat Municipality-2. He had returned home from Mumbai, India, on June 26 and staying in quarantine facility.    

Half dozen villages likely to be inundated 

Half dozen of villages in the southern belt of Saptari district are likely to be inundated with the rivers getting flooded after the incessant rainfall occurred for four days in the eastern hilly districts. The southern plains itself is witnessing rainfall for some days.     Inundation is highly likely in the villages as Tilathi, Koiladi, Loniya, Sakarpura, Rampura and Malhaniya, said Satish Kumar Singh, Chairman of Tilathi Rural Municipality.

A youth who went missing after falling into the flooded Mirdi stream here last night has been found dead.

Landslide blocks Palpa-Butwal route

The Palpa-Butwal section along Siddhartha Highway has been obstructed with a landslide occurred near the Siddhababa this morning. The District Police Office, Palpa said the landslide triggered by incessant rain at Tinanu Rural Municipality blocked the highway.     Rain continues to take place, hindering the effort to clear the debris, Office's Deputy Superintendent of Police Madan Giri said.

Journalist dies in road accident 

A journalist has died in a road accident in Rupandehi last night. Krishna Babu Pandey,30, of ward no. 6 Tilottama municipality died in the accident involving a car that he was driving, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police Dilli Narayan Pandey.  

COVID-19: Death toll reaches 6 in Sudur Paschim  

One more person died of Corona Virus in Godavari municipality of Kailali district on Saturday, taking the death toll to six in Sudur Paschim State.
