Bumper paddy yield estimated in Kaski: Experts   

The rice experts have anticipated a bumper paddy yield in Kaski district this year due to favorable weather.     According to Shalikram Adhikari, chief of Agriculture Knowledge Centre, Syangja, there were signs of a good paddy yield in Kaski this year. According to him, paddy was planted across 25,600 hectares of land in the district last year which had produced 95 metric tons of rice.

Girl dies of burn injuries 

A girl succumbed to burn injuries after a fire broke out at Pyauli village in Arun Municipality-3, Bhojpur. Three-year-old Bishnumaya Karki died after the fire occurred at her house on Sunday, according to the District Police Office, Bhojpur.    

Substandard goods sold during lockdown  

Some groceries in Baitadi district were found selling substandard foodstuffs and drinks during the time of lockdown.     Officials involved in market monitoring said that they seized goods worth Rs 400,000 as some stores were involved in the wrongdoing. Such low-quality goods from at least a dozen stores from five different local levels were destroyed after the monitoring, District Chief of Small and Cottage Industries Development Committee Mayadevi Joshi.  

Khotang's municipality recognizes three more languages as official ones  

Halesi Tuwachung Municipality in Khotang district has decided to recognize the Chamling, Bambule and Tilung languages as the official ones through its policy and programmes for the fiscal year 2020/21.
