Corona scare in Jhapa prison 

Seven inmates have been found infected with Corona Virus in Jhapa prison. This has led to a sense of terror among the inmates in the jail that is housing triple its capacity.    

     Pedestrian killed in road accident  

A pedestrian died after being hit by a micro-bus in ward no. 5 of Biratmod municipality last night. Brikhadwaj Limbu,50, a resident of Yangbarak-3 in Panchthar district died after he was hit by a micro-bus (Ba. 4 Kha. 5100).    

     Scrub typhus and dengue patients on the rise 

The number of people suffering from Scrub typhus and dengue is increased amidst the Corona Virus pandemic. In the past two months, 69 people were diagnosed with Scrub typhus and 24 with dengue fever, according to Bharatpur hospital.    

     76,967 Nepalis returned home 

A total of 76,967 Nepalis stranded as a result of the global COVID-19 pandemic in different countries have returned home. The number is as of Thursday arriving to Kathmandu via air from 32 different countries, according to the COVID-19 Crisis Management Operation Centre (CCMC).    

One killed in road accident   

A person has died after being hit by a truck at Tikauli in ward no. 12 of Bharatpur municipality last night. The deceased has been identified as Puran Giri,34, of ward no. 14 of Ratnanagar municipality, according to District Police Office, Chitwan.    

11 inmates confirmed COVID-19 positive in Jhapa

According to Health Office Pandemics programme coordinator Jeevan Chaulagain, once a jailbird was tested COVID-19 positive on his PCR test, 10 others were tested resulting in positive case.

Two die of suffocation inside a well  

Two persons have died of suffocation inside a well at Shah Party Palace at Manahari Rural municipality-7 in Makawanpur district today. They had gone into the well to repair a water pump.

Paddy, vegetables and houses have suffered damages in Bara, Parsa and Rautahat due to incessant rainfall taken place for the past few days due to impact of westerly low-pressure system.
