Government to install 10-megawatt solar power system at GBIA

It is said out of about Rs 18 billion that ADB is providing Nepal for installing solar power plants, the process has been already forwarded before this in connection with producing five megawatts power in Jhapa, seven megawatts power in Butwal, four megawatts power in Pokhara and eight megawatts power in Chanauta.

ADB provides $156 million concessional loan to modernize power grids, distribution

According to the ADB, the Electricity Grid Modernization Project will finance the automation of grid substations throughout the country, modernize distribution and transmission systems in various areas, complete the installation of smart meters in the Kathmandu Valley, and support sector reform and institutional strengthening of the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA).

BOP set up at Nepal-India border in Madi Municipality   

A border outpost (BOP) of Armed Police Force has been established at the Nepal-India border in Madi Municipality-6 in the district. So far, five BOPs have been set up at Bandarjhula, Kanchhibagai, Chharchhare, Gardi and Balmiki of Madi Municipality. With this, the number of BOPs set up at the borders across the country has reached 114.
