Stray cattle being sent to Humla   

Stray cattle in the provincial capital Birendranagar and in other urban centres are being sent to Humla. The effort is being made following a mandamus order from the High Court to make proper management of the stray cattle.

Elephant electrocuted   

An elephant has been electrocuted in Amaha at ward no. 5 of Khadak municipality, Saptari this morning. The electric fencing installed by the locals to ward off the wild elephants at night has led to the death of the tusker.

More than 2 lakh acquire national ID  

Six municipalities among the 15 local level units in Jhapa district have been distributing the National Identity Card. Kankaki, Damak, Birtamod, Bhadrapur, Arjundhara and Shivasatasi have so far distributed more than 200,000 national IDs.
