Kathmandu, Jan 9 : A seven-point agreement has been forged between Tribhuvan University and agitating part time teachers Friday evening.
The Part Time Teachers Association agreed to withdraw their protest programmes with the agreement.
As per the agreement, the part time teachers would be managed on contract basis following the need, credit hours and seniority to those teachers who have completed at least one year academic session in the respective campuses under the university.
Such teachers will get remuneration from the respective campuses and will get chances in involving in academic activities of the TU.
The association publicity department member Suresh Bhattarai, the agreement has taken decision of removing the age bar to part time teachers to compete in university service.
Associate Professor Bishnu Prasad Khanal from TU side and Mohan Prasad Ghimire from part time teachers' side had signed the agreement.
There are about 2,000 part time teachers in the University.
