Kathmandu, Jan 9 : Kathmandu Metropolitan City is to establish sister relations with Pakhribas municipality of Dhankuta district.
A proposal to this end was endorsed by the 55th executive meeting of the KMC on Friday.
So far, the KMC has established sister relations with 16 foreign cities and three municipalities in the country.
The proposal endorsed by the executive chaired by Mayor Bidya Sundar Shakya will be presented before the 8th municipal council.
The council is meeting on January 11, where the amended budget and programme for the current fiscal year and three bills are being presented.
The bills are related to protection of natural resources, market management and monitoring, and organisations registration and regulation.
The executive also endorsed the appointment of member of the Urban Planning Commission Rajan Raj Joshi, according to KMC sources.
