President Bhandari insists on effective justice delivery

While addressing the national gathering of ‘15th All Nepal Law Practitioners’ National Conference’, Nepal Bar Association kicked off in Kathmandu today, the Head-of-the-State insisted on a vital role of legal practitioners to keep the norms and values of independent judiciary intact in course of justice delivery.

Government gives special priority to development of fine arts: Minister Ale

He said so while inaugurating the 12th Academic Assembly of the Nepal Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA) here today. The Culture Minister asserted that the Ministry will bring planned programmes for the development and promotion of fine arts in the country. He said the government will pay attention to the promotion of performing arts and culture by integrating the four separate Academies dedicated to these sectors.

Finance Minister Janardan Sharma tabled a proposal seeking the general deliberations on the proposal to endorse the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) compact with the US Government. The meeting continues theoretical discussions over the MCC.

The meeting of the House of Representatives (HoR) called for today has been postponed by one hour. The meeting that was scheduled for 1 pm today will take place at 2 pm, said Dr Rojnath Pandey, Spokesperson for the Federal Parliament Secretariat.
