Former President of Nepali Congress Morang district committee Ashok Koirala passed away last night. He was 75. 

Forest fire continues unabated in Okhaldhunga   

A forest fire started at Chishankhugadhi area in Okhaldhunga district is not brought under control yet though the fire destroyed hundreds of hectares of community and private forests in the past three days. Division Forest Office Chief Gyan Kumar Lama said that they were assessing the damages caused by the forest fire.    

Chagunarayan to provide collateral free loan for entrepreneurship development

The first of its kind in the country, Chagunarayan Municipality in Bhaktapur district has started a scheme to provide collateral free loan for entrepreneurship development by targeting the youth for creating self-employment.    

CIT's profit up by 8.54%  

Citizen Investment Trust (CIT) has made 8.54 per cent more profit in the first six months of the current fiscal year compared to the same period last year. The CIT said that it earned Rs 322.5 million in profit in the first six months of the 2077/078 BS fiscal year.

56 yrs old man lands in jail for raping granddaughter

The District Court, Udayapur, has sent a 56-year-old man to jail for raping his eight-year-old granddaughter. The District Court on Wednesday gave life imprisonment to the rape convict.    

One killed in tiger attack

Rawat had joined two other women to collect green fodder from the Bardia National Park when the incident took place on Tuesday. A joint team of Nepal Police and Nepali Army found the body of Rawat today.

FNJ to hold its election on April 7

Development Committee to discuss about fast track, outer ring road projects

The first meeting of the Committee held today after the reinstatement of the House of Representatives and it has planned for discussing about the projects affecting the people directly. In its next meeting, the Committee plans to sit with the representatives of the Ministry of Defense and the Nepali Army for the discussion about the fast-track, according to Committee under-secretary Om Bahadur Karki.
