UML PP and CC meeting today  

The CPN-UML parliamentary party and central committee are meeting today. The meeting of the UML PP is being held at the Prime Minister's residence in Baluwatar at 10:30 am, according to UML Office Secretary Iswari Rijal.

With the Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC)'s decision to hike the price of aviation turbine fuel, airline companies have increased the air fare.    

Nepal freed of political conflict: Minister Gyawali   

Minister for Foreign Affairs Pradeep Kumar Gyawali has said Nepal has been freed of conflict politically.  Taking part in a meeting of the House of Representatives (HoR) today, the Minister said with forces advocating for secession and launching violent activities in the Tarai coming into the mainstream of politics, the country has been freed of political conflict.

Open border: Fuel smuggling continues unabated

It was established through police investigation that the two tankers had been smuggling out fuel through the false chamber and selling that in India thereby incurring losses to NOC. The Bureau has arrested Ajaya Lama and Bikesh Lama of Amlekhgunj, Bara for their involvement in the smuggling and initiated investigation against them. 

WB provides 24 million US dollar for Forests for Prosperity Project  

The Government of Nepal and the World Bank today signed loan and grant agreements of 24 million US dollar for Forests for Prosperity Project that will help Nepal advance sustainable forest management. Of this amount, 6.1 million US dollar is grant and 17.9 million US dollar is concessional loan.
