Gauri Gai count put off due to wild elephant obstruction

Count of an endangered wildlife species Gaur, locally known as Gauri Gai, has been put off in Chitwan National Park (CNP).   According to the CNP sources, the count of Gaur that began since last May 11 has been postponed owing to the obstruction of wild tuskers.   

Govt committed to conversation of Chure region

The government will do its best to conserve the Chure region, the Ministry said in a statement issued on Wednesday by spokesperson Mahesh Acharya . The statement comes in wake of criticism of the budget for the fiscal year, 2078/79 unveiled recently that allegedly allows extraction of river products.

Medical supplies aid from UAE arrives

The shipment consisting ventilators, trolleys, masks, coverall gown and goggles was handed over to the representative of the Ministry of Health and Population by the Deputy Chief of Mission of the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates, Kathmandu. The support received today is in response to the request of the Government of Nepal, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Rain damages roads, school in Doti

According to the District Police Office, it is receiving more reports about the damages caused by rains in several parts of the district. Roads in Bipinagar, Gadsera, Sayal, Adarsha and Mudbhara have developed cracks and eroded as well due to rain.

Fire at CG Brewery doused after five hours

A godown of CG Brewery had caught fire this morning. The fire was doused with the help of seven fire engines, Nepal Army, Armed Police Force and Nepal Police, said Deputy Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office, Dilip Kumar Giri. A wall of the godown has been demolished to prevent further losses.

Dairy industry incurring losses of Rs 100 million daily

Central general secretary of the Association, Pralhad Dahal, shared that 3.1 million litres milk and dairy products were consumed daily during the normal situation before the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. The consumption has now dropped to 1.3 million litres milk and milk products daily.

Prohibitory period extended by a week in Chitwan

Prohibitory period has been extended by a week in Chitwan district.     Chief District Officer Prem Lal Lamichanne today extended the prohibitory period till June 10 mid night.    

Health Ministry directs hospitals to make public treatment fees of COVID-19 patients   

The Ministry of Health and Population has directed all hospitals to make public the expenses required for the treatment of the COVID-19 infected patients.
