Makwanpur DAO to resume service delivery from June 27 

Makawanpur District Administration Office is resuming its service delivery from coming June 27. The service delivery has been disrupted in the district for the past two months due to coronavirus outbreak.    

Meringden rural municipality to offer scholarship for Hydro engineering study  

Meringden rural municipality of the district has come up with a policy to provide scholarship for hydropower engineering study. The scholarship support is to be provided to one boy and one girl students of the rural municipality for the study from upcoming fiscal year. 

Lumbini Province Assembly meeting put off until July 11

Melamchi Water Supply Project's technician yet to reach Ambathan to estimate damage due to flood

The project technicians have not been able to reach Ambathan till date, Project Information Officer Rajendra Prasad Panta said. Although a team of the project including Divisional Engineer had set out for Ambathan on Tuesday to make an assessment of the damage, it has not been able to reach there. It is difficult to reach to Ambathan as a bridge over the Melamchi River and the road to Ambathan has been swept away.

Marsyangdi River again gets blocked

Chief District Officer Bishnu Lamichhane said the river blockage created by soil erosion and other objects including wooden logs and timber brought by the river has put a bridge here under a threat of collapse. The river was blocked by a landslide last Saturday as well.

Three buried to death in landslide

Three people have died after they were buried by landslide triggered by incessant rain at Liun of Rolpa municipality-9. They had been sleeping in the house and were buried by the landslide that fell from above the house, police said.    

28 local level wards at high risk of landslide in Baglung  

Thirty thousand people are estimated to be affected by landslide in Baglung district this year. Similarly, 28 local administrative wards are at high risk, 24 wards are at medium risk and eight wards are at low risk.
