PM Deuba urged to ensure vaccines to traders soon   

Nepal National Traders' Federation has urged Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba to ensure vaccines immediately to the industrialists and traders so that country's economy would be made dynamic.    

92 per cent paddy plantation in Chitwan   

Ninety-two per cent of rice cultivation has taken place in Chitwan. Out of seven local levels here, ten per cent rice planting is to be done in Bharatpur Metropolis followed by five per cent at the Madi Municipality.    

Births at hospital increasing in Lamjung, thanks to awareness campaign 

The district hospital here saw more than 1,000 live births in the previous fiscal year, 2020/21. Out of the total 1,171 births, 888 were normal delivery while 193 through surgery and 90 through C-section, said the hospital chief Hemanta Shrestha.

Six people were injured in separate accidents that took place in Bardaghat-Susta east last night.    

Five month-old child murdered by cousin

A family dispute under the influence of alcohol has led to the tragic death of a five-month-old girl child in Nawalparasi. The incident took place in a family in Mirtung of Devchuli-6 of the district.    

Dairy farmers receive grant   

The Bandipur rural municipality has provided a grant of one rupee per litre of milk to the dairy farmers. The farmers affiliated to the Dairy Producer Cooperatives Institute are eligible for the grant.    

Rural municipality shut down   

The Hupsekot rural municipality in Nawalparasi (Bardaghat-Susta east)has shut down all its services today. The decision was taken to mourn the demise of one of its village council members.

Locals not happy with compensation   

Locals affected by the Fukot Karnali hydropower project have expressed dissatisfaction over the determination of compensation for them. The compensation paid for their land is lower that the prevailing rate, they said.
