During the meeting held at his office in Singha Durbar, the Finance Minister thanked the Government of China for its assistance to Nepal during the COVID-19 pandemic and in the post-earthquake reconstruction drive.

MPs draw attention of government towards COVID-19 control, disaster mitigation

Dev Prasad Gurung of the CPN (Maoist Centre) stressed on the need of bringing damage mitigation programmes taking into account the large-scale damage to lives and property caused by the flooding and landslide that occurred in various places. He also called for providing appropriate compensation to the disaster survivors.

355 inmates in Bhimphedi Prison test positive to COVID-19  

Over one third inmates in Bhimphedi Prison based in Bhimphedi rural municipality in Makwanpur have tested positive to COVID-19. During a rapid antigen diagnostic test on 969 inmates, 355 were found to be positive. The test included the inmates of Block 'A' and 'B' of the prison, said jailor Narayan Pandey.    

School gets telescope  

Singer Yogeshwor Amatya has gifted a telescope to the Chhauni-based Panchakanya Secondary School.     The decision to provide the optical instrument to the school was to inspire students to pursue an interest in astronomy and space science, it is said.
