Lockdown relaxed after two weeks  

The district COVID-19 crisis management centre here has decided to relax lockdown imposed in the district for two weeks. The centre meeting held on Monday decided to allow the running of all sorts of shops and kiosks from 10:00am to 6:00pm in the district, said Chief District Officer Shravan Kumar Timsina.    

Food bank at Barekot to address food crisis  

Efforts are underway to set up a food bank at Barekot of the district so that it could address the food crisis. The food bank is being established with the assistance of World Food Programme (WFP), Barekot Rural Municipality and other donors. 

NHRC directs district administration to investigate into contaminated biscuit 

The National Human Rights Commission's office in Province-1 has directed District Administration Office Khotang to investigate into the contaminated biscuit found in the shops of Diktel bazaar and initiate action accordingly.    

Road accidents up by threefold   

Despite the lockdown imposed several times to contain coronavirus, the number of road accidents grew by threefold in Jhapa district.
