State-2 government to bring bill providing for own intelligence service 

The State-2 government is to introduce a bill designed to have its own separate intelligence bureau.     Talking to Rastriya Samachar Samiti (RSS), the National News Agency on Monday, the State-2 government's minister of state for internal affairs and law, Saroj Singh Kushwaha said that the bill is being brought in exercise of the rights provided by the constitution.    

66% people die of non-communicable diseases in Nepal  

Sixty-six per cent of the people in Nepal die from non-communicable diseases. The same figure for the world is 71 per cent.     Lack of sound sleep, negative thinking, lack of healthy and balanced food and increasing rate of smoking and alcohol consumption have been attributed to the high number of deaths caused by non-communicable diseases, State-3 government's ministry of social development, health directorate said.     

Chinese company shooting documentary and film on the Buddha  

The Moon Virtue Culture Media Company of China is to make a documentary and film on the Buddha. The documentary and film would be based on oil painting related to a story of the Buddha's life. 

Bhadrapur Airport to remain closed for 10 days from today 

The Bhadrapur Airport in Jhpa district is to fully close down for 10 days from today.      The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN)'s Chandaragdhi Offce stated that the airport is to be shut for repairing and upgrading the runway. The airport will remain closed till November 21.     

Bangladesh proposes Nepal for collaboration in hydropower

The two-day energy secretary level meeting was held in Bangalore, India on 14-15 October this year which had agreed to hold tripartite meeting (Bangladesh, India and Nepal) for electricity export to Bangladesh from Nepal via India within three months.

Government has already clarified on Nepal-India issues: NCP Secretariat

NCP Spokesperson Narayan Kaji Shrestha said, "The government has already clarified on the border issues between Nepal and India surfaced recently. We have already drawn the attention of the Indian government through the Nepali Embassy in New Delhi, India."

Arrival of Chinese tourists increases in October

The Nepal Tourism Board said in this period, 15,037 Chinese tourists had arrived Nepal which is 11.5 percent more than the number of Chinese visitors coming to Nepal the same period last year.

Telecom launches 4G services in several cities from east to west   

Nepal Telecom has launched the 4G high-speed internet service in several towns from Birtamod in east to Mahendranagar in west in all seven states.      According to Company Spokesperson Pratibha Baidya, the distribution of 4G SIM card on a discount price has begun and customers can change their cards.

Unidentified group torches bus   

An unidentified group torched a bus (Na 4 Kha 7350) belonging to the Kakrebihar Yatayat on Sunday night. The vehicle was parked on the side of the road at Simthari, Ghodaghodi municipality-4 of Kailali district.    

NCP secretariat meeting begins

The secretariat meeting of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) has begun at the Prime Minister's official residence at Baluwatar.     Matters related to the contemporary situation of the country are to be discussed in the meeting presided over by NCP Chair and Prime Minster KP Sharma Oli.
