27 bills to be decided in ‘Bill Session” of Federal parliament

According to the Federal Parliament Secretariat, the session is scheduled to decide 27 bills. Of them, 10 have been already distributed to stakeholders concerned following their registration in the Secretariat, 15 are under consideration at parliamentary committees and two have been sent to the National Assembly after their endorsement from the House of Representatives.

Upper Bhotekoshi starts commercial production

The 45-megawatt Bhotekoshi Hydropower Project based in Sindhupalchowk has started commercial production.     The project started commercial power generation following the two-week long test transmission, said project chief executive officer Bikram Sthapit.

Two killed in Nuwakot road mishap

Two persons died and six others were injured in a road accident occurred at Bidur Municipality-6 in Nuwakot district today. The vehicle (Ba 2 Ka 7910) heading from Multhala to Chainpur was carrying the workers of Nagarjun Construction Company, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police of Nuwakot Rajesh Thapa.  

Fishing banned in Thuligad river 

Fishing has been banned in the Thuligad river, located in the south of the district. The Badikedar and Joyaral rural municipalities took this decision in order to preserve aquatic bio-diversity.    

Badminton tournament with highest prize money   

A badminton tournament organised by the Lafa club with the highest prize money in State no. 5 has begun in Butwal.     A total of 80 teams in the open category and 32 towards the veteran category are taking part in the competition. The winner team will walk home with Rs. 51,111 in cash while the second and third will get Rs. 41,111 and Rs. 31,111 respectively.    

Grand preparation for VNY 2020 

State no. 1 Minister for Industry, Tourism, Forest and Environment Jagdish Prasad Khusiyat has said that special programme will be organized to mark the Visit Nepal Year 2020.     Speaking at the Tourism Promotion Committee meeting on Saturday, he said that all the sub-committees have been working actively to make the inauguration of the VNY 2020 on January 1, 2020 grand and productive. The inaugural event is being held at Biratnagar stadium.
