Rupandehi, Dec 22 : A badminton tournament organised by the Lafa club with the highest prize money in State no. 5 has begun in Butwal.
A total of 80 teams in the open category and 32 towards the veteran category are taking part in the competition. The winner team will walk home with Rs. 51,111 in cash while the second and third will get Rs. 41,111 and Rs. 31,111 respectively.
Likewise, towards the veterans, the winner will pocket Rs. 21,111 and the second will get Rs. 15,111 and the third Rs. 10,111, along with medals and certificates, the club chair Tara Singh Reshmi said.
Minister for Social Development of Province no. 5 Sudarshan Baral inaugurated the tournament on Saturday.
