By Dhirendra Prasad Sah, Janakpur, Mar. 29: The Prime Ministers of Nepal and India will jointly inaugurate the Jaynagar-Janakpur railway service of Nepal on April 2.

According to Niranjan Jha, general manager of the Nepal Railway Company, Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba and his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi will through virtual means inaugurate the railway service from New Delhi during PM Deuba's visit to India.

Prime Minister Deuba is visiting India for three days from Friday, April 1, at the invitation of his counterpart Modi.

Jha said that the inaugural of the rail service was made possible after the government brought forth the ordinance related to the railway.

There were legal hurdles to inaugurating the service as the previously introduced ordinance had expired.

The dry run of the Jaynagar-Janakpur railway has been successfully operated once a day since February 13.
