Janakpurdham, Nov 18: Nepal Communist Party (Revolutionary Maoist)'s general secretary Mohan Baidya has underscored the need for resolving the border issue between Nepal and India through political and diplomatic measures.
Addressing a press conference organised by his party, here, leader Baidya said that the incumbent government should be serious about the encroachment issues and seek its resolution.
Baidya was referring to the placement of Nepal's land such as Lipulek, Kalapani in Darchula district in the recently-unveiled political map of India and the uproar it created among the Nepalis.
He argued that the deployment of the Indian army in the Nepal's territories was a serious agenda and pressed for diplomatic efforts to remove the Indian army stationed in the Nepal's encroached territories.
"Although our party was not summoned in the all-parties meeting called by the government to deliberate on the same issue," said Baidya, clarifying that his party was still batting for seeking resolution to the issue through political and diplomatic channels.
On a different note, he said that his party was still enhancing advocacy on the federalism with identity.
Commenting that the federalism implemented in the country had undervalued the identity, he asserted that a drastic change was needed to make our constitution more people-oriented.
