New guideline issued for coronavirus test in Sudurpaschim State

Kailali, June 12 : The Health Directorate of Sudurpaschim State has stipulated a new guideline for coronavirus test. The guideline has stipulated that those who stayed in quarantine for 14 days and did not develop any symptoms of coronavirus could return home.    
The new guideline has been issued following the state has witnessed 66,000 people in quarantine and faced shortage of RDT kits used for coronavirus test.    
A circular issued by Director of the Health Directorate, Dr Gunraj Awasthi stressed the need of the guideline for the people stayed at home quarantine and home isolation as with the rise in the number of suspects and shortage of testing kits.    
The circular was sent keeping abreast the Health and Population Ministry, Kathmandu, Social Development Ministry, Sudurpaschim state, all local levels of Sudurpaschim state and all district administrative offices of the state, reads the guideline.    
Those who spend 14 days in quarantine would be sent home and they need to stay at home quarantine for seven more days. Those will only be sent home, who tested positive for coronavirus through RDT procedure but not developed symptoms after collecting their swab samples for PCR test.    
The first coronavirus infected person from Ghodaghodi municipality of Kailali has been discharged from isolation ward constructed by the municipality after he did not develop any symptoms of coronavirus till 14 days.    
Mayor Mamata Prasad Chaudhary and health Section Chief Kailash Rawat bade farewell to 32-year-old man, who first tested positive for coronavirus on June 4 in course of test at Dhangadhi Lab, after recovery on Thursday.
