Kathmandu, April 16: Minister for Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation Padma Kumari Aryal has instructed the newly appointed office-bearers of the Landless Settlers Problem Resolution Committee to work in the best interest of the proletariat in the country.

At a programme organized at the Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation for introduction with the new office-bearers today, Minister Aryal asserted that providing social justice to the landless people who have been struggling since seven decades should be the topmost priority of the officer-bearers.

Urging them to forward the Commission’s agenda with meticulous planning, Aryal shared that laws necessary were formulated to accelerate the works related to the landless that were, according to her, had been stalled for so long in absence of laws.

On the occasion, Commission’s President Devi Gyawali extended his gratitude to the Ministry for entrusting the Commission with such important responsibilities and pledged to secure the welfare of the proletariats in line with the government’s resolution.

Ministry’s secretary Kedar Neupane said the Ministry and Commission would work in tandem to address the issues relating to the landless people in the country.

The Commission has Bhim Bahadur Karki, Jagat Deuja, Manjali Shakya and Dineshchandra Yadav as the members. The Commission was formed in 2019 in accordance with the Land Act (eight amendment)-2076 BS.

The tenure of the newly appointed office-bearers is three years.
