Jhapa, Jan 31 : An elderly man was killed due to attack by a wild elephant at Mechinagar Municipality-13 in Jhapa district today.
The elephant that strayed into the settlement from nearby forest attacked local Khamba Singh Karki, 75, while he was chasing it away.
Injured Karki died at Birtacity Hospital in Birtamod, said the police. The incident took place at 3 am. A local resident, Ganesh Bahadur Adhikari, 63, was also killed when a wild elephant attacked him five days ago.
