Kathmandu, June 7: Deliberations on various issues of the Appropriation Bill 2077 that started at the House of Representatives three days ago concluded on Sunday.
Under the Bill, members of the HoR dwelt on budget allocation and programmes for the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration, Foreign Affairs and Defence ministries and the Office of Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, the National Planning Commission Secretariat, the Offices of President and Vice President.
On the occasion, most of the HoR members from ruling parties defended and praised budget for the fiscal year, 2020/21 and stressed the need for its effective implementation.
However, the HoR members from the opposition parties criticised it as rudderless and lack of priorities, saying that it could not resolve genuine problems of the people. Likewise, most of them asked the government to encourage electric vehicles by relaxing taxes on it. The HoR is next to meet on June 8 at 11 am.
