By TRN Online, Kathmandu, May. 6: Kathmandu Valley on Thursday reported 3,972 new cases of COVID-19.
Of the 8,970 infections confirmed across the nation, 3,972 were detected within the three districts of the valley, informed the Ministry of Health and Population's daily COVID-19 update.
Of the new infections, 3,163 were detected in Kathmandu, 242 were confirmed in Bhaktapur and 567 cases were reported in Lalitpur. Currently, there are 32,452 active cases of COVID-19 in the Valley.
Of the active cases, 24,533 are in Kathmandu. The district has recorded 136,467 cases until now of which, 111,126 patients have already recovered while 808 succumbed to the infection.
Similarly, Bhaktapur's COVID-19 tally is currently at 12,871 including 166 fatalities and 9,760 recoveries. There are 2,945 active virus-infected patients in the district.
Lalitpur's virus caseload is 22,653 including 230 deaths and 17,449 recoveries. A total of 4,974 patients are infected with the virus in Lalitpur at present.
