Active cases of COVID-19 hit 2,800 with 337 new infections

By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Apr. 10: The Ministry of Health and Population on Saturday confirmed 337 new cases of COVID-19, taking the nation's novel coronavirus tally to 279,725.

"In 3,532 Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) tests done in the last 24 hours, 337 persons were found infected with SARS-CoV-2," informed the Health Ministry in the regular press briefing.

Currently, there are 2,800 active cases of COVID-19 across the nation and 84 people mostly those who had returned from abroad, are placed in quarantine. 

Meanwhile, 151 COVID-19 patients receiving treatment in institutional isolation or staying in home isolation recovered from the infection in the last 24 hours. Nepal has now recorded 273,886 cases of recovery and the recovery rate is at 97.9 per cent.

One COVID-19 related fatality was reported in the last 24 hours. Currently, the COVID-19 death toll is at 3,039.
