Kathmandu, Mar. 28: Actor Divya Dev has come into the limelight following the release of Chiso Ashtray in the halls since March 18.
Even though film critics hailed the movie, it failed to become a box office success. However, its lead actor Divya Dev has succeeded to impress both the audience and filmmakers from his acting. Critics have lauded his work claiming that the industry has got a skilled actor.

Divya Dev may be a new face for many, but he has been showing mind-blowing acting skills for 12 years.
He has been in the theatre for 12 years and have over two dozen dramas, both English and Nepali, to his credit.
He has exhibited his acting talent in English dramas like Hamlet, Anna in the Tropic, Mid-Summer Night’s Dream and more. He is also waiting for the release of his films--Rudane and Hijo Aaja Ka Kura, The Secret of Radha, a web series, and more.

Rudane is the biopic of Rupchandra Bista, the revolutionary philosopher, and politician of Nepal. Earlier, he had done films like Nagarik, Awaran and Superhit, but in them, he had not been that impressive as in Chiso Ashtray.

“Theatre has played a great role in my life and this platform helped me become a good person. I will continue to work in theatre till my lifetime,” he said.
He will soon be doing a play written by Kumar Nagarkoti.

He also expressed his dissatisfaction over the free flow of foreign films in local cinema theatres and said Nepali films, which are often low budget, are facing tough challenge while competing with big budget Indian and Hollywood films in the local halls.
He said that there is no alternative to making quality films. He said that the response he received from the audience and the media after the release of Chiso Ashtray had added more responsibility to him.

Divya Dev said that he loved to play challenging, unique and somewhat mysterious roles. “I do not like to do easy roles because they do not give me satisfaction as the challenging roles.
Asked why Nepali audience choose foreign films over Nepali films, he said that Nepali audience want to watch Nepali films with original stories.
Artistes have the main role to attract audience to the hall, added Divya Dev.
