Doti, Aug. 19 : The waterfall of Budar near Chhahada village of Jorayal Rural Municipality-2 in Doti district, which is known as Chhahara Jharna (waterfall), has been drawing crowds of domestic tourists.
Tourists from Kailali, Kanchanpur, Banke, and Bardiya districts in Nepal and the border areas of India have started coming to see the waterfall, especially for making TikTok videos and taking photographs. Now the waterfall has become the main attraction for children and youth.
The Chhahara Jharna Tourism Development Committee has informed that 2,000 to 5,000 people come to visit the waterfall on a daily basis.
The waterfall is located at Budar of Doti, which is the main entrance to seven hilly districts of the far western region -- Doti, Achham, Bajhang, Baitadi, Dadeldhura, Darchula and Bajura. People from different parts of the country, especially those from the hilly districts of the far west, come to explore the waterfall.
Speaking about the beauty of the waterfall, Dr. Naman Upadhyay, who was encountered at the waterfall, said, "The waterfall is very beautiful.
If it is managed properly, it may also attract foreign tourists."
With the development of infrastructure by the local government, including an unpaved road, it has become easier to reach the waterfall.
Chairman of Jorayal Rural Municipality Durga Datta Ojha said that there was a plan to move ahead with infrastructure development by giving priority to Chhahara waterfall.
The locals have even taken the waterfall for religious reasons. According to the mythology, in the Satya Yuga, Lord Vishnu washed His head in the same waterfall where he put his right foot upside the Khasare and left foot at Loda in Faltude.
Since Lord Vishnu washed His head in the waterfall, the devotees, priests and gurus of the villages around the waterfall also bathe in the waterfall and wash the conch bells and utensils of the deity in the waterfall.
