Kathmandu, Sept. 28: The government has appointed journalist Bishnu Prasad Subedi as the executive chairman of Gorkhapatra Corporation (GC).
A Cabinet meeting on Monday appointed Subedi to the post.
The post of the executive chairman in the corporation has remained vacant after the government accepted the resignation tendered Krishna Murari Bhandari on August 3.
Subedi has been appointed to the post for a four-year term.
Born in Gulmi, Subedi has begun his career in journalism from the Himalayan Times Nepali daily in 1996. He has worked with several media organisations over the years. Of late, he was working at the Annapurna Post daily.
An M. Phil. in Mass Communication and Journalism, he has also been active in media teaching and research.
