Tanahun, Dec. 19: Folk-duet singer Prem Raja Mahat has released his latest single ‘Manung Dandai Ma’ named after the recent viral destination Manung Danda of Tanahun. Sung by singer Mahat along with folk singer Bima Kumari Dura, the recently uploaded music video is a love letter to the pristine locale, which further aims to promote Manung Kot as a tourist destination.
The now viral ‘Manung Kot’ is located in Byas Municipality 5 of Tanahun district.
Composed by Mahat himself and the music arranged by Diwan Karki, the song has been lauded by Mohan Kumar Shrestha, Ward Chair of Byas Municipality- 5.
Ward Chair Shrestha is hopeful that the song will assist in promoting tourism at the place. He added that “When singer Mahat sang ‘Plane Bata Dekhaideu Bandipur’, Bandipur became popular. Likewise, his voice can lend that same amount of publicity to develop tourism here (Manung Danda),” adds Shrestha.
Born in Tanahun Shuklagandaki, singer Mahat is currently based in the United States. But staying away from home hasn't changed his style as the singer prefers singing in the original Nepali Vaka, which is why his songs catch on like wildfire among Nepali fans. .
Songs such as “Paan Ko Paat”, “Simsime Panima”, “Bajho Khetma”, and “Pari Baat Ko Aayo” among others are some of Mahat’s most popular creations.
Singer Mahat said that he has been living in the US not out of love for the country but to promote the Nepali music and songs from abroad.
