Urlabari, July 25: The Pathari Shanischare Municipality has started the land survey to maintain the record of land for resolving the longstanding problem of landless Dalits, squatters and unmanaged settlers in the municipality.
The municipal unit of the commission relating to the solution of landless people will complete the process of enlisting the record of land by September.
A total of 9,793 families including 3,568 landless Dalits and landless squatters and 6,225 unorganized families of the municipality have dropped their application at the office.
The unit has already completed the process of enlisting the record of land from wards 1, 2 and 3 of the municipality, while almost 50 per cent of the work has been completed in ward-4.
Spokesperson of the office Yam Prasad Guragai said that the unit had been working according to the instructions of the district committee of the commission.
“The office will complete the process by mid-August,” said spokesperson Guragai.
Mayor Dilip Kumar Rai assured that the office would complete the process of enlisting the record of land by mid-September and would start the land survey work immediately.
Tara Prasad Dhakal, unit chief of the commission at the municipal office, said the municipal office has already arranged the equipment for the process.
