By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Nov. 14: With 1,946 new cases of novel coronavirus confirmed on Saturday, the national COVID-19 tally has surged to 208,299.
"In 8,753 Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) tests done in the last 24 hours, as many as 1,946 persons, 816 females and 1,130 males, were found to have been infected with SARS-CoV-2," informed the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) in its update.
Meanwhile, 2,503 COVID-19 patients receiving treatment institutional isolation or staying in home isolation recovered from the infection in the last 24 hours. Nepal has now recorded 170,632 cases of recoveries and the recovery rate stands at 81.9 per cent.
As many as 13 people succumbed to the deadly virus in the last 24 hours and with this, the national COVID-19 related death tally has reached 1,215.
36,452 active cases
The Health Ministry further informed that currently there are 3,6452 active cases of COVID-19 across the nation.
Of the active patients, 376 patients are admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and 74 are receiving treatment with ventilator facility.
Some 1,057 persons, mostly those who had returned from abroad, are placed in quarantine across the nation.
