Nepal-India military training concludes

Kathmandu, Oct. 4: The Nepal-India joint military exercise named Ex. Surya Kiran-XV concluded on Saturday.
Held in Pithoragarh of India from September 20 to October 2, the training was of the Battalion level.

According to a press statement issued by Directorate of Public Relations and Information (DPR&I) on Sunday, the training was attended by 300 Nepali Army personnel led by Lieutenant Colonel and 400 Indian Army personnel.
The combined training was focused on various military tactics, exercises and the roles of the security forces during disasters and pandemics like COVID-19, and the participating forces also shared their professional experiences.

Indian Army Central Command Commander Lieutenant General S.S. Mahal had given concluding speech in the training.
On the occasion, Central Command Headquarters Chief and Major General Binaya Bikram Rana of the Nepali Army, Brigadier General and Chief of No. 3 Brigade Kumar Babu Thapa and other senior army officers from Nepali Army and Indian Army were present.

The Nepali Army has expressed its belief that such joint exercise of the forces will further deepen the friendly relations between the two countries and enhance the overall development of basic military skills and mutual understanding between the armies of the two countries.
