By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Feb. 11: District convention of the remaining 16 districts under the 14th general convention of the ruling Nepali Congress is slated for February 25, according to the decision of the NC central election committee.
Of the remaining districts to be held a convention, eight are from the Madhesh Province.
Gopal Krishna Ghimire, the coordinator of the NC central election committee, informed that a decision has also been made to conclude conventions at the wards and local levels, if any remaining, within Feb 22.
"On Feb 25, there will be the first phase of election for the district president and if no candidate gets 50 plus votes, there will be another round of the election on the following day," said Ghimire. He said all the remaining convention-related activities of the 14th general convention will be over with the election of the Mahasamiti member on February 27.
