By Deepak Prasad Gautam, Birgunj, July 2: Over a dozen rural villages have been inundated due to incessant rains for the past few days in Parsa district.
Many settlements of the Birgunj Metropolitan City have also suffered heavy waterlogging owing to overflown Srisiya stream.
Bhimkant Paudel, officiating chief district officer of Parsa, said that as the water level in Srishiya had increased due to continuous rainfall posing threat to the bridge linking Jyoti Nagar and Ashok Batika, precaution was taken to avoid any damage to the bridge.
Chhapakaiya, Adarshanagar, Ranighat, Sripur, Ashokbatiak, Naya Basti, Radhemai Tol of wards 1, 2, 10, 11, 13, 22, 25 of the metropolis have suffered inundation.
Similarly, the flooded Oriya stream have caused damages to the road and also led to inundation in many villages of Chhipharmai, Pakahamainpur rural municipalities.
Overflown Dhutaha stream has caused inundation in wards 3, 8, 9 and 10 of Pokhariya municipality.
Likewise, Supur area of Jagarnathpur rural municipality has also been inundated while flooded Sikata stream has inundated Madhuwaha, Jhakara Masihani's houses and paddy fields
Many houses in Bindhyabasini rural municipality and Thori rural municipality have also suffered inundation.
