Kathmandu, Feb. 10: RK Entertainment Group has conferred the title of Mahanayika (Female Superstar) of Nepali film industry on actress Karishma Manandhar.
In a programme organised by the Group at the Rastriya Sabha Griha, Kathmandu, on the occasion of its twentieth anniversary, Karishma was feted with the title of Mahanayika in the presence of Mahanayak (Male Superstar) Rajesh Hamal and other personalities.
Receiving the title, Karishma said that she was honoured to be an artist and expressed that she was grateful to everyone.
Born in 1974 in Lalitpur, Karishma made her debut at the age of 14 from the movie 'Santaan.' After working in the film 'Kasturi', Karishma married director Binod Manandhar.
Artiste Nir Shah, Kulman Ghising, lyricist Dr. Bhola Rijal, lyricist Min Sagar Lama and others were also given national honours at the ceremony.
RK Entertainment Group had also declared Rajesh Hamal Mahanayak a decade ago.
