Kathmandu, Jan. 14: A joint patrolling team of Nepali Army and officials from a national park Wednesday detained a man allegedly involved in hunting and smuggling of protected wild animals.
The arrested person was identified as Laxmichandra Shahi, 53, a permanent resident of Tripura Sundari Municipality-6 in Dolpa district.
According to a press statement issued by Nepali Army, the man entering the Shey Phoksundo National Park was caught red-handed along with the loaded gun and other weapons to hunt wild animals and their smuggling.
Army has also recovered 19 bullets, gunpowder and the meat of the hunted animal and other stationeries. Army has handed over the man and the seized goods to the National Park for further legal action.
