By Janarjan Khatri, Sarlahi, July 2: The district administration office of Sarlahi at Malangwa, the district headquarters, has been inundated, causing difficulty in delivery of services due to incessant rains since Tuesday night.
Bhumisor Pokharel, officiating chief district officer, said the office came into operation after two-month long prohibitory order only on Wednesday. But, as the office premises as well as rooms have been waterlogged, only urgent services are delivered.
"I have urged the municipality to arrange for draining the water. Water level in the premises and in the office rooms is knee-deep and we are facing difficulty even in keeping the documents safe from water.
As the office is at a relatively low area and there is not a good drainage system, the office suffers from waterlogging almost every year.
Similarly, a police post at Khutauna in Malangwa municipality-8 has also been inundated.
Santosh Singh Rathaur, superintendent of police in Sarlahi, said that there ware tall buildings around the post and the post is also situation at a lower area, which caused inundation in the post. "We are using pumps to drain the water."
A police post at Chakraghatta rural municipality-8 has also been inundated.
