Kathmandu, Dec. 15: The CPN (Maoist Centre) has decided to take initiative to end the stalemate in the parliament and allow the House to function smoothly.
A parliamentary party meeting of CPN (Maoist Centre), held at Singhadurbar prior to the beginning of the winter session of the federal parliament on Tuesday, decided to take initiative to end the impasse in the parliament by holding an all-party meeting on behalf of the party.

Taking to his Facebook account, party chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ said he had instructed the parliamentarians of the CPN (MC) to make the winter session of the House effective.
The main opposition CPN-UML has been obstructing the parliament proceedings since the 9th session that convened on September 8.
The UML chairman KP Sharma Oli has been saying that his party would continue obstructing the House proceedings unless Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota confirms the expulsion of 14 lawmakers, including Madhav Kumar Nepal, who now heads the CPN (Unified Socialist).

Similarly, answering the queries of lawmakers over the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) at the meeting, Prachanda said the MCC would move forward only after an all-party consensus.
The meeting has also appointed Gopi Achhami of the CPN-Maoist as the chief whip of the National Assembly while Ganga Belbase has been appointed as the whip.

Likewise, Ram Kumari Chaudhary has been appointed as the party's whip in the House of Representatives and Ram Narayan Bidari as the secretary of the parliamentary party, chairman Prachanda wrote.
The meeting also decided to form a 21-member parliamentary board, he added.
