Kathmandu, Sept. 20: Bharat Mani Paudel has won Season 2 of Comedy Champion.
In the grand finale held Saturday evening, veteran comedian Haribansha Acharya declared Paudel, a resident of Taplejung, winner of the Champion.
Paudel received a trophy, a car and cash prize of Rs. 2.5 million. Paudel had made headlines after caricaturing various leaders, artistes and viral personalities like former minister Gokul Banskota, former crown prince Paras Shah and social activist Punya Gautam.
After winning the title, he said, “This is a victory for the comedy-loving audience. I gave a presentation that I could and audience liked it.”
He also promised to continue his career in comedy and thanked the audience across the world for supporting him.
Similarly, Vicky Agrawal of Sikkim, India, became the first runner-up. He won a TVS Apache motorcycle.
Last time, his performance on ‘Pantomime’ theme went viral across social media.
Although the show’s three judges Pradip Bhattarai, Reecha Sharma and Manoj Gajurel praised Agrawal’s performance, judge Santosh Panta had criticised the act citing it was not relevant for Nepali audience. Panta had drawn flaks for his comment.
Similarly, Santosh Thapa of Gorkha became the second runner-up and was awarded a scooter. He gave memorable acts by imitating police, don, a man carrying water jar, power company owner and a teacher.
