Humla, Feb. 14: Around 71 per cent of people have received vaccine against COVID-19 in Humla district. One month earlier, the figure was 49 per cent.
Most of the people get vaccinated after the vaccination card was made mandatory for the service providing public offices. According to Prem Bahadur Singh, chief at the Health Service Office, a total of 41,000 people are to be vaccinated in the district. Among them, 29,266 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine.

This is the data provided by all the 81 vaccination centres of all seven rural municipalities, said Singh. Similarly, 19,342 people have received both doses of vaccine and 1,412 have received the booster shot.
Also, 2,112 people were vaccinated with single shot dose of Johnson and Johnson. Similarly, 6,050 children of 12 to 17 years have received moderna vaccine.
The number of vaccine recipients increased after the emergence of risk of third wave of infection, said Singh.

Due to communication problem, the details of the vaccinated people from all the rural municipalities have not been collected, said Singh and added that the number of vaccinated people will increase further.
The vaccination campaign is going on at all the vaccination centres and district hospitals on the daily basis.
Now children are getting the second dose of moderna vaccine and others are receiving the second dose, booster shot, said Singh.
