Baglung, Jan 19 : The Kathekhola rural municipality chair cup volley ball tournament is to be held here from coming January 29. The four-day tournament is being organised with the objective of developing the sport of volleyball and producing volleyball players.
A maximum of two teams each will take part from the eight wards of the rural municipality. The winner of the tournament will receive a cash prize of Rs. 132,000 while the runner-up will walk home with Rs. 80,000, according to the rural municipality chair Amar Thapa.
The rural municipality had allocated a budget of Rs. 1.5 million for sports and musical competitive events in the current fiscal year. The tournament will be held at Dhamja in ward no. 3 of the rural municipality.
On the occasion, a singing competition titled 'Kathekhola Loktara-2076' will also be organised. The winner of the event will get a cash prize of Rs. 30,000 followed by Rs. 20,000 and Rs. 10,000 for the second and third respectively. Likewise, a gazal singing competition and Sarothi song competition will also be held on the occasion.
