Rampur, Nov 2: Himal Dutta Shrestha has been elected to the Palpa district President of the Nepali Congress.
He won receiving 890 votes against Krishna Prasad Basyal who conceded defeat with 381 votes. Likewise, Jhapendra Gahire and Gyan Bahadur Gaha have been elected to the vice-president with 754 and 773 votes respectively.
Similarly, Santosh Thapa Magar was elected the secretary with 807 votes. Sunita Adhikari was also elected to the same post garnering 785 votes. The election held on Friday elected two joint-secretaries Bishnu Kumar Thapa and Hamid Alimiya with 743 and 641 votes respectively.
Of the total 1,383 voters, 1,313 votes were cast in the election.
