Kathmandu, Aug 27 : Jamaica Tallawahs, the team in which Nepal's leg spin bowler Sandeep Lamichhane is playing, lost today's match played under the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) T-20 Cricket held in Trinidad and Tobago.
Sandeep performed his best and took two wickets in his fifth match. Sandeep's team lost to Barbados Tridents by 36 runs. In this match Sandeep conceded 16 runs in four overs.
Batting first, Barbados made 148 runs losing seven wickets. Keyal Meyers played an explosive batting and amassed 85 runs for Barbados. Except Michael Centanar who made 20 runs for Barbados other bowlers could not make significant runs.
Mujir-ur Rahman took three wickets while Fidel Edwards and Carlos Brethweight took one wicket each for Jamaica Tallawahs.
Jamaica which were chasing a target of 149 runs could hit only 112 runs losing nine wickets. Nakrama Bonner made the highest number of runs for Jamaica. He collected 31 runs. Sandeep had also batted in today's match. He was not out for six and made four runs.
With this, Jamaica Tallawahs is placed in the fifth position with four points. The team has won two matches and lost three. Barbados has climbed to the third place with four points on the basis of run rate. It won two matches and lost three.
Jamaica Tallawahs is playing its sixth match on Sunday, August 30.
