Damauli, Dec 26 : A road race is being organized in Rishing rural municipality of Tanahu with the objective of promoting tourism that has been severely hit by COVID-19. The event is being held on January 11, 2021.
Sharing information at a press conference held here on Friday, the rural municipality shared that the Rishing Marathon is being held in three categories—open, local and women.
The first, second and third prize for the winners is Rs. 65,000, Rs. 40,000 and Rs. 25,000 respectively, according to the rural municipality Chair Rajendra Krishna Shrestha. Three others will receive consolation prize of Rs. 10,000 each.
The 40 km race will start from the Gadidanda and held at the view tower at Dabungkot, passing through different tourist attractions like Gothadi, Dungagade and Chalise.
The local category of the race will be of 10 km while the women category race will constitute a four km run. "This tournament is expected to help publicize various historical and touristic sites in Rishing," said chair Shrestha.
