By A Staff Reporter , Kathmandu, Apr. 19 : Nepali eve Sushma Tamang inched closer to the historical medal at the AIBA Youth World Boxing Championships Kielce 2021 after winning her pre-quarterfinal bout in Poland on late Saturday.
Pugilist Tamang defeated Dija Bajalyte of Lithuania in the women’s 45-48 kg weight category to register a historical victory at the World Championship. The victory secured her the spot at the quarterfinal of the tournament.
Tamang was declared winner by Referee Stop Contest (RSC) decision in the third round. She made an attacking start from the first round and continued her offense in the second round to achieve the goal.
She will face Poland’s player Kujetska Nataliya in the quarterfinal on late Monday. If she wins the fight against Poland player Kujetska in the quarterfinal, Nepal would win the historical title at AIBA World Championship.
