Kathmandu, Aug. 10: Eleven footballers called for the closed session for FIFA World Cup Asian Qualifiers have undergone COVID-19 test at the Lagankhel-based Patan Hospital in Lalitpur.

Besides them, other 14 people including coach, physio and ANFA hostel employees gave the samples for the test, according to All Nepal Football Association (ANFA).

Players Bishal Rai, Ranjit Dhimal, Mikchen Tamang, Rabi Paswan, Darshan Gurung, Bimal Rana, Deep Karki, Dilen Loptan, Chhiring Gurung, Devendra Tamang and Pujan Uparkoti and physio Aviskar Pudasaini and coach Kiran Shrestha were among those included in the first-phase testing procedures.

The samples of remaining players and officials will be given tomorrow, it is said.

Bikram Lama, Subhash Gurung, Sujal Shrestha, Sunil Bal, Rohit Chand, Abhishek Rijal, Kiran Chemjong, Bikesh Kuthu, Bishal Shrestha, Saroj Dahal, Anant Tamang and Ajit Bhandari have been summoned for the closed session training.

Likewise, Tej Tamang, Amit Tamang, Arik Bista, Anjan Bista, Ashis Lama, Bikash Khawas, Nawa Yug Shrestha, Suman Aryal, Sheshehang Aangdembe, George Prince Karki and Bharat Khawas will be giving the samples for test tomorrow.

The ANFA is preparing to start training for the national football team for the World Cup qualifier from upcoming August 17. It is playing three home matches under the World Cup qualifiers.
