By A Staff Reporter , Kathmandu, Apr. 2 : Nepal Police Club (NPC) made a flying start at RBB NVA National League Volleyball Championship following a straight 3-0 victory over Samajik Youth Club at National Sports Council Covered-Hall, Kathmandu on Thursday.
The national star-studded NPC registered a 25-9, 25-21 and 25-16 comfortable victory in their first match of the day.
APF Club struggled to beat Bulbule Rara Club 3-1. The departmental side won the first two set by 25-20 and 28-26 in a very competitive battle.
The visitor’s side Bulbule Club of Rara who had entered the court with their three Pakistani players made a comeback in the match as they won the third set by 25-18.
APF made a heroic comeback to win the match as they defeatd Bulbule Club of Rara by 32-30 in the deciding set. With a 3-1 victory, APF opened its account in the tournament with three points.
Meanwhile, New Diamond also made a flying start at the event as they overcame Dhorpatan Sports Club by 25-6, 25-2 and 25-5 in their opener of the women's category.
Altogether 12 teams (7 men, 5 women) are taking part in the event. The league will conduct in the single league format and the top two teams from the league will secure their spot at the title clash. The title winner of the men's and women's category will receive Rs. 300,000 each respectively.
